During the detail, which was “conducted in furtherance of (New York State Police’s) mission to ensure highway safety for all users of the roadway,” on Tuesday, Sept. 18, troopers issued a total of 52 tickets for speeding, distracted driving and other vehicle and traffic violations on the interstate.
The latest enforcement period comes on the heels of several others in recent months. Last month, a motorist who was busted driving nearly 100 mph was among 88 drivers issued summonses. Two others earlier this year net troopers more than 150 tickets for various violations.
